I just received photographs of the view of the new RSC theatre which were sent to my Facebook page. Then there are the items received from the Shakespeare Festival Facebook page, and Northern Broadsides also have a page on this social networking site. I therefore have alot to read about Shakespeare and the events surrounding the Bard.
I wonder what would be the reaction of the said individual to social networking. Yet via this media the wonders of Shakespeare can be spread in an instant, worldwide. Someone in the Pacific islands can be made aware of how the new theatre is developing and which actor is playing what part at the Courtyard Theatre and what are the plans for 2012 and the Shakespeare Festival.
With the opening of the new theatre and the events to be held in 2012, Stratford will be a very busy place. The connection with I believe Voluntary Arts England will further encourage interest in both Stratford and Shakespeare. The uses of social networking will thus help all these events to be seen and for individuals to participate in a grand historic theatrical event.
