The new production of HENRY IV PART ONE is about to open at the Globe and I note that no less than eight of the company have previously appeared with the RSC.
The title role is to be played by Oliver Cotton whilst Roger Allam will be seen as Falstaff. Other familiar faces from Stratford productions are Jason Baughan, Patrick Brennan, Christopher Godwin, Sean Kearns, William Gaunt and (recently seen in ARABIAN NIGHTS) Kevork Malikyan.

My wife and I are seeing the production in September, so watch this space!

I have the Globe enewsletter regularly and it is great to
see how it is progressing;
I attended a production of “The Tempest” in which Mark Rylance played Prospero. The production was staged on the
foundations of the new Globe theatre.
It was a rainy summer evening and the wind whistled across the building site, which was very apt in regard to the play.
The actors were dressed in rags and used the rubble around them as props.
The audience sat on mats on the ground, and turned this way and that to watch the action. Then had hot tea etc at the interval.
It was an experience never to be forgotten.
