That would be me as I was able to make the trip down to Bristol this week to see John Heffernan as Richard II at the Tobacco Factory. Wow, what a performance! A very clear sighted king who seems to understand what he’s doing wrong even as he does it. Sadly, Richard won’t be transferring anywhere but luckily John will be appearing at the National Theatre in a new version of a very rarely performed Ibsen this June.

Yeah I was lucky enough to see it to! John Heffernan was brilliant! I loved his use of humour in the role.
I went to visit my parents for the weekend at the end of Feb, and my mum had bought the tickets as a surprise for me, I love my mum! The thing is my mum doesn’t really like Shakespeare, in fact before she went in she said that if she was “Finding it to hard” she would leave me and my dad to it after the intermission, but she was enthralled! In the deposition scene she was in floods of tears! Aw!
