A fascinating adaptation presenting the feminist struggle to expose the injustice and bigotry of patriarchal societies from the seventeenth century to the present day with a nod at Edwardian England and the Suffragettes.
Moll Cutpurse’s quick wits and guile, not to mention her male attire and facial hair, enable to confound the men and help the lovers to a conventional happy ending. I particularly enjoyed the Gallipots comic exchanges, brilliantly done, also worth mentioning the musical finale which was so exuberant and hilarious. Well worth seeing.
